Nurse investigator, co-founder
Deb is an investigator with MMRF focusing on research that improves conversations between patients and their clinicians.
Her current work centers on 1) the effect of low English proficient patients; how language affects health care outcomes, and 2) how diagnostic medical treatment plans can place work burden on patients.
This work is developing a tool allowing clinicians to explore patient capacity to do the treatment work. Boehm is also a primary care adult nurse practitioner and a member of the MN Coalition for Advanced Practice Nurses. She is former facility in the University of Minnesota School of Nursing, and while living in California, held an appointment as adjunct facility at UCSF. Outside of the office she is sustains herself with family, bike riding, crafting quilts, and friendships, not always in that order.
